A New M&A Strategy for Utilities

MCWest

0

Given the underlying dynamics in the market, utilities seeking growth must pursue a mergers and acquisitions strategy. But utilities seeking mergers don’t have a free hand — they have to negotiate a series of regulatory hurdles and satisfy stakeholders. A fruitful M&A strategy in the utilities industry contains three essential elements: the ability to navigate the regulatory approval process; a well-crafted initial integration plan that identifies specific gains and synergies; and a transition program to capture the projected value as soon as the acquisition is finalized.
